RESTORED C2 Corvette Steering Coupler
(Rag Joint)

We used our C3 disc to develop a C2 Steering Coupler (Rag Joint) for use on 1963 to 1966 Corvettes with standard (Non-Telescoping) steering columns. This product is intended for the restoration of vehicles that are being inspected frequently and judged for originality.
The flanges are both original GM # 5686624 castings. The castings are cleaned and painted black. The threads have been chased (not re-tapped), and if needed new pinch bolts are supplied. The castings, reinforcing plates, pins and bolts are restored original parts wherever possible. These parts are all included with the core to be restored, or are subject to the core charge. In the pictures above, the rivets, bolts, reinforcement plates and the rubber disc were made by
Engineered Spares.
Any replacement rivets or pins needed will be machined from steel to match your original parts. Our replacement reinforcing plates are plated steel stampings. The new disc will be the same one used in our C3 product, (8) layers of rubber with (7) layers of cloth in between. The wire mesh screen will not be bonded in place for this application. The ground to complete the horn circuit will be provided by a copper ground strap similar to the original C2 Corvette Steering Coupling.
Again, our goal is to provide you with the most accurately restored part we know how to make.
Please review the high resolution pictures above and let us know what you think. We want to hear from enthusiasts to know we are accurately producing the parts you need.
