RESTORED C3 Corvette Steering Coupler

This product is intended for the restoration of vehicles that are being inspected frequently and judged for originality - This item fits late 1969 through 1982 Corvettes with one flat on the steering shaft.
The splined flange, stamped center retainer and capture strap are original GM parts that have been refurbished. The disc is made from all new materials. It is NOT stamped out of the sidewall of an old tire. It is NOT made from a piece of old conveyor belt. It is (8) layers of rubber with (7) layers of cloth bonded together into a single unit like the original parts. A correct wire mesh disc is bonded in the right location to provide the ground for the horn circuit. Our disc has been carefully compared to NOS parts and we believe the finished product is by far the best available at this time.

Typically one week lead time - Restoration of your specific coupling will take 2-3 weeks after receipt of parts and payment. Please note, These lead times are dependent on having parts in house to work on. We currently do have usable cores, but they go fast. If usable cores are not available, the lead times will start after parts can be purchased and received.

We also offer a low cost replacement steering coupler for those who want to get on the road without a correct restoration. This item fits late 1969 through 1982 Corvettes with one flat on the steering shaft. It is intended for cars that are driven often, without concern for originality. We have looked at many replacement steering couplers over the years. In our opinion, this item is better than most and will serve you well. We have them in stock and ready to ship. Here is why we like this part:
1 - Both bolts have a shoulder and use a locknut for a solid metal-to-metal connection and a secure bolted joint.
2 - The capture strap is similar in shape and function to the original.
3 - Rivets are solid not tubular and are fully formed like the original.
4 - The disc is a firm one-piece part and it may be hard to see in the pic, but the wire mesh is there for the horn circuit.
