FIRST UP

To complement our replacement Idler Pulley Bearing (GM# 908076) we are working on new pulley wheels machined from steel, and new brackets for the 1969 - 1974 Corvettes with 427 or 454 engines.

These Big Block Idler Pulley Assemblies did have some slight differences in the bracket from year to year. Also, the pulley wheels look like the finish changed from plated and chromate to black paint at some point. Research is ongoing to determine what the correct shapes, finishes etc are for which years.

NEXT UP

We used our C3 disc to develop a C2  Steering Coupler (Rag Joint) for use on 1963 through 1966 Corvettes with standard steering columns and it is now listed on our products page. The next task will be using a combination of the C2 and C3 parts to produce a coupling for 1965-1966 Corvettes with Telescoping Steering Columns (RPO N36), and a coupling for the 1967-1969 (early) Corvettes. These look similar, but there are important differences in rivets, bolts and the horn circuit grounding method. We are researching these items to be confident what we put out there is correct. Again, our goal is to provide you with the most accurately restored or reproduced parts we know how to make.

Once these two new couplings are released, we will have accurate Steering Coupling restoration parts for all 1963-1982 Corvettes...

How much interest is out there for C4 and newer Corvette Steering Couplings??
